The Nachalat Binyamin Market in the heart of Tel Aviv is open every Tuesday and Friday, offering some fascinating art creations and wonderful views of graffiti as your stroll through the streets. Located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Tel Aviv, Nachalat Binyamin Market features a massive range of different arts and craft products presented by over 200 artists.

Jan was there during a recent trip and says she loves the graffiti everywhere you look. “It’s so expressive of Israeli society - the art of the streets - the art of the people and - the art of the times.”

“Look at the design and colors! You can take an entire day and just spend the time reading what is being said about life here today.” - Jan Goldstein

Nachalat Binyamin is the largest arts and crafts market in Israel. Each artist who participates is approved by committee and all their artwork must be original and handmade. A rule the committee has is that each artist must personally sell their work which also makes the experience truly authentic and special. This market has created a ‘community of the artists’ who see each other every week and share techniques, materials, and ideas. It’s a wonderful experience for all ages to get to know local artwork and artists.

Visiting the Nachalat Binyamin Market

The Nachalat Binyamin Market runs every Tuesday and Friday, open most of the day but the earlier you get there, the better. Start your walk at the top end of Nachalat Binyamin Street (the junction with Allenby Street, King George Street, and Sheinkin Street). The market is next door to the Carmel Market and is part of the White City you’re in the mix of all the action!
